Find Your Inspiration

Kind of makes you want to own a little cottage by the beach, doesn’t it? Mine would be a bit less fastidious and white, though, with more weathered wood. Still, love the feeling of a coastal house!

In fact, these clever beach habitats are completely new to me. But as one who has struggled to put up flimsy shade coverings with sheets and metal poles – all in the stiff sea breeze, what a great idea! And I noticed, Servetus, how you cleverly introduced the Word Power entry du jour in that comment. Sneaky! 🙂

Think of me as that mother who’s pureeing carrots and putting them in your cinnamon bun 🙂

You rent these by the day or the week and they open and close completely and have locks. There are usually rules associated with them — like you can’t move them too far, or be in them overnight — but it means you can leave stuff like your blanket and sunglasses in them, or push them in the direction of or away from the sun, or if you want to take a nap you can almost close them and sleep without worry about sun or people … it’s the greatest concept. Also neat b/c the Baltic Sea coast is quite cool.

Mmmm…. cinnamon buns fresh out of the oven – carrots or not! My mind is easily distracted tonight.

The strandkorb (singular or plural?) seems like a great idea. Haven’t seen any on the Gulf coast, but I did see a firm in Florida that makes them when I was doing a little research on it.

Yes, Joanna, for me the coast fascination covers all the senses. My son has a CD of just the sounds of waves. When he was younger, he used to use it to fall asleep at night. Such a soothing sound! And I love the evenings when my husband would sit on the balcony at our favorite coastal condo with wine and cheese and just listen to that sound. *sigh* indeed!

I’ve just accidentally replied on the Go Nautical blog.

They’re probably scratching their heads and wondering what the heck i was on about!

Thanks for the reblog – it gave me a moment of summer of a cold, windy, wet day in Sydney.

Me too Bolly…oops 🙂 Still waiting for summer to arrive here in mid America – looking at these pix I can almost smell the sea air!

Whether accidental or not, obscura, I think the Go Nautical folks appreciated your comment. Summer’s about made it here further south – warming up. Maybe that’s why I keep thinking about coastal stuff.

In fact, bollyknickers, it looks like they took your reply to be for them and responded to it, with gratitude it appears. Glad you enjoyed the reblog – coastal images are so good for transporting us on quick vacation (holiday).
